We're starting to check off some of the last todos on the many lists. Flight leaves in under 10 days. Wahoo...just about time to Crack out the backpacks and suitcases and start packing!

Nothing says spring is here more than Stoked Pizza on French Beach! Yes, we added a little walk out to Sandcut Falls and a stop at Shirley Delicious on the way. Twas still chilly on the beach but what a great way to welcome the new season...after cutting the grass and working around the house of course.

Checked off, or bagged, a few more peaks today. Gorgeous sunny, chilly day to be hiking in the Sooke Hills. Certainly a long 10 km loop with some good elevation - training for the section of the West Highland Way that we'll be hiking in Scotland soon!

What's to do on a warm sunshine, low wind day in mid January? A fire on the beach for the sunset at our favourite, closest to home legal place to have a beach fire. We even left Darwin at home to make it more peaceful. Gotta love the Island!

A 5 peak hike on a super sunny day in January was what the doctor ordered. Tough going here and there complete with a Cookie level stream crossing! The climb up Sugarloaf from behind (or is that the front?) kicks our butt every time! 8.4 km, 569 m up and down. Not huge but a good workout for sure.
