TMB Day 10

Because of the way we booked our accommodations we had the option of combining the last two days into one.

One big day! 25 km in distance, approx 2000m up and more than that down.

We started early and finished the first big ascent, which included nine ladders and strategically placed handrails, as the sun came over the mountains.

This brought us to the aptly named Tete aux Vents. The strong winds made the ladders even more challenging for Cookie, who doesn't love this sort of thing. But she did it!

The trail continued to offer more challenges...a gift that keeps on giving!

  • Further ascent up to Brevant, above the cable cars

  • "Last col"

  • Boulder fields

  • More ladders

  • A mountain goat

  • And a final loooong decent into Les Houches

After ten hours...we made it back to where we started ten days ago!

...and the bus wasn't running so we had to walk to our hotel (with the added weight of a bottle of champagne in our backpack!)

Definitely earned our Rocky Pop burgers.

That’s crazy windy! Congrats on your expedition - you did it! Love the photo with the goat - looks like he photobombed you.
