Bear Hill Regional Park
Link to GaiaGPS map

Bear Hill is a short climb from Hamsterly Road on the North end of Elk Lake or the midway point on a great hike along the lake if you start from Beaver Lake...or our house.

The route is simple to follow but stay on the main trail and follow the signs at the top or you'll end up in the yards of the locals.  You can also access the hill from the west and north if you're looking for variety.

Bear Hill gives a great view of the Saanich Peninsula and also Mt Baker on a clear day. IT's a great beginners hike with a high return on your investment.

Watch for the mud near the bottom for much of the year. The straight shot to Hamsterly Rd is often much dryer.
